I have managed to trace this person, but would like some help as to where to find some further information. On the 1901 census Edward Brinkley is listed as being in HM Royal Naval Prison, Lewes, Sussex. Can anyone help with information as to why he was there.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi. If he is one of your ancestors, you could apply to the Royal Navy museum and Archives, with his details and ask if they have his service records and how you can get a look at them.Ethel.
