Edward Hunt was born in LONDONDERRY, Shropshire!!

It's a bit of a squiggle in the census with the combination of thick black ink and the heavy line through it, but that is what is written.

I live in Staffordshire, the next county, and I vaguely remembered this location so I took a chance and googled it. And there it is.

Good luck with your research.

, it's great to have other peoples thoughts, also trying to find his grandaughter Ann Hunt (born Gibralter) I found a marriage in 1859 North Aylesford either to a William Hutchens or William Nary but no luck tried for hours but can not pin her down, oh well keeps my brain active.

If you look at the 'L' for Lower Upnor in the first line of your chap's entry, it looks nothing like the first capital letter after Salop in the 'Born' column!

I've tried all sorts of combinations with no luck so far.

Hi wonder if some one would check the occupation in the 1841, and 1851 census for

Edward Hunt born 1775 living Frindbury Kent

looks like he's a gunner but can not make the rest out, also does Salop mean he was born in Shropshire

thank you Annabel
