Yes, seen W N Draper...daughter Priscilla born London 1825.
Parents are in London 1841, (Grace is nursing in St. Pancras, daughter Priscilla with a couple in Bethnal Green, (down as Jane) Thomas haven't found him, (he is a carpenter) Grace is widowed on 1851 with daughter Priscilla, Saffron Hill, London.

Only discovered W N Draper when ANC. London Baptisms came online.
Perhaps they went back to Cornwall for a couple of years where Geo Aug was born (hadn't seen him), then came back to London.

Will make a project on the two boys...I'm on the verge of ordering Marriage 1855, W N Draper to Ann Jinks. Devon (FreeBMD)...

Chris :)

(apologies to Tracey)...

Eh, I just sent it to torment you.

Not totally -- my request on the Clinic was entirely genuine.

Ancestry messes things up, and with the Scottish censuses there's no way to tell, since there's no access to images.

I do seem to have saved the SP census image for

Name: Ann Berwind
Age: 30
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1811
Where born: Midlothian, Scotland
Civil Parish: Edinburgh St Cuthberts
County: Midlothian
Address: Leith Walk 3 Hope Ch
Occupation: F Servant

so I guess I decded that wasn't her, for instance.

It's not that I haven't tried! It's just so hard to get the second head to rub together for Scottish thingies.

Lol, Janey, Well I've never found a marriage for Grace to Thomas Draper...
First child Priscilla born in London 1825 (have details, her life done, and Grace's death in Cornwall 1881 as she went back home)

Nearest I've ever found was in Tewkesbury Glos. 1824 25th Feb. on IGI. (needs checking though)

(will have a look round on Cornwall OPC)

Chris :)

(might ask that Victor on 'Records', he's offering Glos. look ups, not something I normally do though is ask!)

Possible for Agnes, i know she'd have been very old having the children, not unheard of tho?

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Nov 2010 20:31

No prob, Chris -- while I was there I looked up a baptism I'd just found at pilot.familysearch ... for some reason, my grx2 grmother was running around baptising her kids years after they were born, and there's one in 1860 she managed to miss in 1857 when she did a batch of four. And she missed his younger brother who was only baptised as an adult in anticipation of death in 1872. If only I could find the parents' marriage ... non-marriage (and maybe non-paternity) may explain some of these baptisms, though. ;) Or maybe she just waited til non-believing dad moved to London ... The Cornwall OPC record has more info than pilot.familysearch does, so it was worth the trip!

Couldn't find any other events for your Allen people.

Chris,

Your age makes you seasoned..... not old!!

The info i found was on the new beta site on Familysearch (the Mormon site)

beta.familysearch.org

It's free for anyone to search !

Tracey,
You are correct with the marriages and births for Henry and Margaret , they also had another son born before they married in 1866,

Chris Ho :) Report 22 Nov 2010 20:02

Tracey, I think it's my fault for copy and pasting, it's made it look like first name Allen instead of surname Allen.
Should be Grace Jolly Allen...

Chris :)

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 22 Nov 2010 20:00

Curious about Chris's query -- Allen Grace? A male person? Grace is a fairly common woman's name in Cornwall/Devon.

Cornwall OPC site

http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/searchdb.php?dbname=baptisms_nc

has, for instance:

Baptism Circuit: Penzance, Independent
Date: 06-Nov 1791
Where baptised: Penzance, Octagon Chapel
Name: Grace JOLLY
Father: Richard
Mother: Grace
Residence: Mevegissey

No 1800 Jolly baptism for similar given names there.

I see a Jolly baptism in St Allen parish. Could that be what the "Allen" means??
