I wonder how to find out if Henry Frederick Bass b 1885 London and his wife Mary Ann nee O'Connor produced any offspring. Also William Alexander Bass b 1864 Essex was married to Harriett Herbert. Did they have any children. I cannot trace any - but maybe there is a way! I'd be grateful if anyone could help me in these two queries. Thanks. Jenny from Manchester

Thanks so much Christina and Choccy.
Is there anywhere to look after the 1911 census where Henry Frederick & Mary Ann Bass were still childless. Did they emigrate? How can you find out?
William ALexander got divorced from Emma Simpson and married Harriet. I can find no trace of Harriett afterward the wedding in 1898 but she disappeared somewhere as he was described as single on the 1911 census at the home of his sister and brother in law Thomas and Fanny Louisa Florence in Kentish Town London. Wm Alexander ended up marrying for a third time (glutton for punishment) to a Sarah Batt nee Cook and they produced one son Leonard Joseph William in 1923. But did he have any kids with wives no 1 & 2. He served in India and the first wife went there too.

Christina, Thanks, I have read it properly now. Are you telling me that WIlliam Alexander and Harriet had actually produced all those kids or just that some of them may be possibilities. You really are very efficient and make a newcomer like me feel a bit useless!
|
Hi Choccy, Thanks again. I am trying to digest it all. All that information and so quick t oo. My next job is to track all those Florence kids so the housework can be left once again! So what I say - this is much more fun!

Hi there Christina, Sorry to say the family which I thought you had found for William & Harriet Bass is not the right one as my WiIliam was William Alexander and by the 1911 census he was recorded as single at an address in Kentish ToOwn where he was a lodger with his sister and brother in law.- Thomas & Fanny Louisa Florence. So he must have either divorced her or she had died and this of course does not answer my question of whether of not they had children.Never mind. Thanks very much for your efforts.
