My family is currently looking to add my uncles ashes to an old grave that contains his Uncle and Grandparents - I'm wanting to put the birth and death dates of the Uncle -in this case Eric Edwards on the gravestone we're having erected - it was previously unmarked but I can't find the death details to send for his death cert.
The details I have are as follows: born Eric Edwards, mothers maiden name: Stubbs, born Sheffield July Qt. 1934 (i've to send for the birth cert but have the details req for this). I believe he was about 7 years old when he died but I can't access the deaths, can anybody please give me the reg details for his death - would be between 1940 and 1942 in Sheffield
This would be very much appreciated and thank you to everybody that reads my message/

Thankyou all, I didn't look on free BMD - it's absolutely ages since I've been on here and to be honest it took me over 1/2hr to work out how to post this request to start with. Free BMD didn't enter my mind - it must be a good 18 months since I actually did anything of any substance but this has brought things to the fore again and hopefully will regenerate my interest in the tree again and possibly get me motivated to get into it all again. Thankyou all for helping me and also for giving me my interest back, I shall be digging deep again.

Free bmd is a great website and usually the best place to start looking but don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it......

I did send for the birth and death certs and have recently started entering more family members to the tree, the headstone was erected last year with all three family members shown on it, it's no longer a patch of grass, but a proper grave now. Thanks to all who helped, you're all marvellous
