Hi Wendy,

Thank you so much for all the info you've found for me. Now that you've seen the actual records for yourself I will change a couple of the marriage dates given from those on your disc
Marshall John Fells 14/8/1841 instead of 4/8/1841
William Fells 10/4/1852 instead of 19/4/1852

I will take you up on your offer of further look ups thank you, will get back to you.

Chris

Hi Sharon,

Sorry not much help.

Lorriane,

Just looked on my burial CD and Henry Selby 20 Aug 1884 aged 67yrs and Leah Selby 23 Jan 1889 aged 70yrs both in Lambley Church Yard , dont know if its the same grave and who else is in it I'll look in the Monumental books at the archives to see if they have a grave stone.
If you have many burials in Lambley it might be worth you look at
www.lambleychurchyardproject.co.uk
where you can buy a book on the monuments of Lambley.

Derek Report 4 Mar 2012 17:58

Hi Wendy/Lorraine........its your old mate Derek.....I need a favour, on behalf someone I'm trying to help. Would be very grateful for any ideas:

MARIA SISON married HENRY ATKINSON at St. Leodigarius Old Basford Nottingham in 1877.

She was born 1858..apparently in Ilkeston..Henry apparently born 1858 Baford.

The marriage certificate gives Edwin Sison as father........as far as i can see, he doesn't exist..and i have various alternatives.

Mt correspondent is desperate to find her birth ( i have the BMD entry for 1858, which being a Civil registration gives Basford District,,,,which as you know included Ilkeston)

I have the full Ilkeston PR's...........no sign.....

Anything you can find on either of these two pre 1858..would be worth a very good grovelling thank you!!

Hi Derek,

Sorry nothing on Maria Sison on my discs, I think it would be best for your correspondent to buy the birth certificate, it will be the best way to find who her parents was as it looks like Maria wasn't christened.

As for Henry Atkinson the only one I can find was christened at Basford St Leodegarius on 13 April 1863 son of Thomas (FWK) and Ann Atkinson.
BMD reg march 1863 so not the one you want as he would have only been 14 yrs of age at marriage. The only other one on BMD was June 1852 Basford and no christening for him.

All the Best

Dear Maureen, hope you are well. I am asking for some help again if you can. I am hoping for the father's name of Thomas W Norledge.

I have Thomas Wild Norledge born c1830 Newark Notts, mother on 1841 census appears to be Sarah Norledge 1809-1878 . I believe she was a widow at that time. She was born West Markham, Notts.

Thomas Wild(e) Norledge married in Jan q 1859:_

Name: Thomas Wilde Norledge
Date of registration: Jan-Feb-Mar 1859
Registration district: Newark
Inferred County: Nottinghamshire
Volume Number: 7b

and if I am correct his wife was Louisa Jenkinson.

Their children were all born at Balderton

Regards and much appreciation in advance, Jennifer

Hello dear Wendy..i need your help again..pretty please. can you find FRANK WITHAM (there are two possibles)...born between 1886 and 1893..either at Mansfield (Woodhouse) or Sutton in Ashfield..or just possibly South Normanton.
The Mansfield Woodhouse one might be favourite..because that's where Annie L Surgey came from.oor, according to the 1901 Census South Normanton..her mother (Florence) died in childbirth..and her father was Joseph Surgey.
The correct one married ANNIE L SURGEY JFM 1915 registered Mansfield.

W know all about her..she was actually Florence Annie Surgey..adopted by the Lentons.....but hich Frank Witham did she marry??? Twould be a big bonus of you could find his parents.

Many many thanks as always for the great work you do.

Hi Derek,

Good to hear from you. OK I'll look for the marriage at all Mansfield and Sutton in Ashfield chruches that I can at the archives. If its Sourth Normanton as I'm sure you know that is Derbyshire.

On my disc of christenings there is one Frank Witham born 5 Nov 1885 and christened 20 May 1889 son of Joseph and Alice Witham at St Mary's Magdalene Church Sutton in Ashfield, I cannot find him on BMD but one in 1893.
Will be back in touch as soon as I've been to the archives.

All the best
