Hi Wendy
Do you happen to know if there is any electoral roles at the archives from 1901 to 1911 my grandmother lived at barkers drive carlton in 1901 census her name was Frances helen Thornton then I have found her again in 1911 living in leicester this time as frances helen shirley I have spent years researching her there is no trace of a marriage to a mr shirley .
so i am now looking at other ways of traceing her in those 10 years and beyond .
I have her on all the census also birth and her death in 1956 when she lived at austin avenue nottingham .
regards

Hi Madeline,

Yes the electoral roles are at Nottingham Archives but I'm not sure if women were allowed to vote at that time but I'll look and see if there is anyone with that surname on barkers drive.
