I've been to the archives to day and found books on the East Retford church records with all Baptisms, marriages and Burials transcribed so have started tto copy them (saves me going though all the fiches as books are in surname order) here is all the burials up to 1900 and I'll do the Baptisms and marriages next time I'm at the archives, hope they help and sorry not in order of date all have the surname of Hurst:

I didn't know for sure about William as some records give William and some William B and some William Bingham. I didn't know enough about him and have been going on what some-one passed on to me, that is why I have been checking everything.

Children Sarah and Edward in the 1841 census jan posted perfectly match the baptisms I posted earlier, 1825 and 1830.

So if the 1841 household is the right people, that makes him William Bingham Hurst, and the daughter is Sarah Wilson Hurst.


You said he died c1875, but his actual death record is easily found:

Deaths Mar 1875
HURST William Bingham 80 E. Retford 7b 9

... so maybe you knew his full name ...
