Hi Mike. I am on Ancestry.Ihave also tried to find her on the births register
and cant. Ican only confirm what was told to me by my mother. She was expecting my sister at the same time. My mum had a baby sister named Marie Suzanne Brownbill born in 1921 she died in 1922 She was going to call her firs daughter after her. But Albert beat her to it his daughter was born in February my sister in May. I was nt born till 1950 but my mum told me a lot about the past.. Luckily Iwas always interested and remember lots of what she said.

Hi . Thought of something else that could be helpful. Ernest Alberts brother Thomas Arthur Brownbill die in 1984.He was a bachelor and left no will. There were 4 people who inherited. My mum 2 other brothers and Alberts only child Marie. The solicitors traced2 of the recipients one being Marie Wonder if that could help.If it is the same one I never heared any talk of adoption. Although could have been after her father died in 1949

Hi My mothers brother was Ernest Albert Brownbill he married Mary Mccover in Liverpool 1933. They had a daughter Marie Suzanne born February 1937. Albert died in1949 I think Mary died in the 1990s We had heared Marie was in South Africa I never knew about adoption but I think there was bad feeling towards Mary
They lost touch when Albert died. I wonder if she was my cousin.
Best wishes Ruth

Applying for her adoption records will be denied, at this time only adoptees can have access to the information and any deceased adoptee the records then become closed for access.

Also the certificate you have is is only a short version of the certificate *after*adoption so will show no parent/s name applying for a full one *adoption certificate*will give name and that of the adoptive parents,,,,the only bit to gain is that it will show the court which granted the adoption,no ref is made to birth origins.

You could buy the full version of the certificate you have which will give parents names

Index only shows births for the whole of the quarter.

She may of course have been given new names and not born Marie at all.

Official adoption began in 1927 so maybe you could apply for her records.

Hi Mike,

Thank you VERY much, yes that is my Nana & Grandad's marriage record.

The birth certificate is not a fill version and does NOT contain parents names unfort :(

As she was adopted we have no idea where in England she was born, nor if she was definitely born Marie Suzanne Brownbill. Does that make sense? Maybe I am being sceptical but she is known as Marie Brownbill at marriage so maybe birth recorded much later?!

I'm new to this so not sure!

Hello,

I am looking for records for my Nana (mom's mom). She has now passed away and I don't have much to go on and she was adopted.

Born: 02.02.1937 I have her "certificate of birth" applied & received in 1966 but that is all. Her name on there says Marie Suzanne Brownbill.

She passed away Nov 2007 as Marie Evans.

I am desperately trying totrace her family/ adopted/ real, whatever I can!!

Thanks forr any help in advance.
