Does any body know of Elizabeth Shannon c1864 who married Edward Rudkin c1860. I seem to have two families mixed up and I need to sort it out.

Working UP the tree I start with an unusual name of Edward Hope Rudkin 1913 m to Alice Breedon 1909.
Edwards father is Alexander Rudkin 1868 m to Margaret Magill 1877.
I then have Edward Rudkin 1838 m to Elizabeth Shannon 1844.
Edwards father was Richard Rudkin 1815 m to Eliza Cormack 1815.
My problem is that I have two sets of family by Edward and Elizabeth Shannon and I cannot for the life of me work out who belongs to whom. I will look at all your lookuups and try to figure it out but if you can offer any more help it will be appreciated.

The info above all seems to relate to the Edward who was a shipwright.

Confusion in 1881 is that Elizabeth Rudkin (age 90) is mother to Richard Rudkin (age 66).

Alexander's birth cert would confirm his parents' names - but you may need to come forward a generation or two and start with a few certs for the more recent ones. If there are two families with similar names you will need the certs to help unpick which lot is yours.

Only marriage of Alexander Rudkin to Margaret Magill I can find is in Jun Qtr 1918 Toxteth Park 8b 307.
Apart from Edward Hope in 1913 there is a Richard born 1916 to Rudkin/Magill.
Alexander Rudkin appears to be single in 1891, visiting in Co Durham and is a Heating Engineer. Can't find him (obviously) in England 1901/1911.

I assume you have Edward Hope Rudkin's birth or marriage cert for his parents who I agree with Stuart only appear to have married in 1918.

it is easier to work backwards Brian so please could you tell us which is the ancestor you started from. Do you have any certificates?
