I have traced my great great great grandfather to James McDowall born approx 1801. The 1841 census gives him aged 40 plus 8 McDowall children Agnes (b1816) , Jean, James, Janon, John, Robert, Andrew, Samuel (b 1830) and a boarder, James Dick. Anyone able to help me further?
