Thank you connie, Both James have disappeared from all records and I cant find deaths for them either.

James snr last address on census was 24 weir Street 1911 but after this period his wife sarah was at 4 weir st until she died in 1941, cant find him in any will searches or death records or ww2 and then his son James jnr lived at 18 weir St in 1911 but then at 42 Weir Street and his last child born in 1918 but after this I cant find James in death record or army records either.

His wife Elizabeth died in March 1937 as a widow so between 1918 and 1937 he has died but he is not in the cemetry either.

His son Thomas lived on at 42 weir street from 1937 with wife edith and he was in the army from 1939 with his brother Robert (who was in the royal horse artillary) but I have searched and cant find these either.

The whole Belfast Armstrong family from Weir Street just sseem to have no records especially the two James has no records of marriage birth or death.

Just cant move foward without this details on this branch of tree.

Sharonrose -
Irish records are notoriously patchy, with many having been destroyed.

I have the same problem. My late husband's mother was born in Belfast 1922, and married, presumably also in Belfast, in 1945. Can't find any record of either.

I'll keep looking for Armstrongs - you never know!

In 1918 there was a James Armstrong, hackle setter, at 4 Weir Street.
There was also a James Armstrong, labourer, at 42 Weir Street.
