Sorry about that folks my grandmothers two names where ellen hamilton &


ann norra fraser married surname boyd she married as ellen hamilton &
died as ann norra now somone on this sight has told me to go to scotlands
pople i have tried without success my gran was born on 1861 as ellen &
i have ann norras birth certificate 1859 so how you work that out ido not know husbands name charles boyd 1857 Ann

Are you sure you have the right person .Seems odd to switch around names

Have you searched back from any children they had.Their birth certs will give mums name and the date the parents married , Scottish certs have so much more info that English/Welsh ones

If Ellen was born in 1861 and Ann Nora was born in 1859, what makes you think they are the same person?
I'm not sure that I understand.....

If she's your grandmother, Ann, what's the name of her child from whom you descend? And when and where was he/she born?

Hello again Ann , I've just looked up the 1911 census and Helen H Boyd wife is still with Charles and family @ 4 Silverfir St. Record shows at that time they had been married 32 years. Regards Jim Boyd

Well,it's a mystery all right. Here are a few pieces of the puzzle. I'm not making much sense out of it,but I have a head cold and barely know which way is up....

Births
Ann Norra Fraser June 1859 Father John Fraser Occ:Shoemaker Journeyman and Margaret nee Tully. Can't read the address.
John and Margaret Tilley's marriage (1855,ithink) is on the Old Family Search as well as Ann Norra's birth and that of a brother William (forgot the year).

Marriage
After Banns Dec 27th 1878 at Glasgow. Charles Boyd Shoemaker Journeyman age 21 and Ellen Hamilton Boot machinist age 19.
He of 136 Gallowgate? Glasgow son of William Boyd and May Ann nee Kian** ?
She of 8 St Mungo street Glasgow daughter of John Hamilton Boot Maker (journeyman dec'd and Margaret nee Tilley (dec'd). Witnesses Thomas Leckie? and Susan Boyd.

Death
Ann Norra Boyd widow of Charles Boyd died age 79 Aug. 31 1938 at 12 Pine Street Glasgow. Father John Fraser shoemaker (dec'd) and Margaret nee Tully (dec'd). Informant was Susan Boyd daughter.

Just a possible scenario......
John Fraser and Margaret Tilley marry and have children including Ann Norra.
John dies and Margaret marries John Hamilton and almost immediately has a daughter Ellen.
Ellen marries Charles Boyd and some time after 1911 dies.
Charles then marries Ann Norra.

Like I said, just a thought.
