Can anyone help with this? I have this info for my GGG grandfather- Enoch Emery . He married in Fermoy in 1863. I believe he died in India in the late 1870s. Is there any way of establishing this? I cant find any attestation records for him either.

First Name(s) Enoch Last Name Emery Number 164 Rank Private Unit 95th Foot (Derbyshire) Regiment Stationed at: Poona East Indies National Archives reference: WO12 / 9560

Thanks :)- Catherine was his wife and according to relatives she died at sea returning with her daughter after the death of Enoch. I cant find a record of either of their deaths though.

I'm not picking up what you have!. the ref you quote seems to be a National Archives ref but maybe is not online. You could email them and ask how you can access the record

Shirley- it seems top lead to general muster books for the 95th foot rather than be a direct link to Enoch so perhaps there are no individual records available. Its a great shame as I am so interested to find out what happened to him.
Thanks Safc, that is my great grandmother, daughter of Catherine Goggin/Emery (same name)

I have had some help on my 3x great grandfather before but am still stuck. I know he was in the 95th foot and stationed in Poona India. He married in Fermoy 1863 and I have found this record. His daughter Catherine was born in Mhow and his wife also Catherine (Goggin) died in Bangalore. His number was 164 and he appears on the Surrey Recruitment register. I got his name and rank from his daughters marriage record.

I cant find any army information on him or a death and im not entirely sure about his birth either.

I am very interested in finding out the truth behind the sad story which led to my gg grandmother returning alone to aengland where she was brought up by her aunt Mary Ann Sumner.

Can anyone shed any light on Enoch? Thanks!

If he died in service there won't be any records for him on FindMyPast. Muster Rolls for the Regiment - not online- would give a quarter by quarter account of where he was and when and would mention his death, assuming the Musters have survived for this period.

His first and/or last appearance in the Musters may give place of birth.
