Hi DET as I live in Scotland have no English Census and
truth be known don't know how to go about looking for it.

Which is the earliest census you have her in? If she is in a household with possible younger siblings, then they may have had their birth registered if born after Sep 1837. The BC would give the names of both parents

Do you have her MC? That at least would give the name of her father, if known which might help you to find them together in an earlier census.

looking for the parents of Elizabeth, who was
b1824 Shaw Mills,Yorkshire, d1894 Pocklington.
She married Thomas Shepherdson 1843 in Hull.
