Skelton/Hearsey (Cumbria) and Middleton (Stafford)

Heather Report 6 Aug 2012 13:04

I am trying to build my family tree and am looking for any information to help me to locate members of the Skelton family from Whitehaven, Cumberland and the Hearsey family from Carlisle, Cumberland. My Grandfather was John or John Graves Skelton (born circa 1881) and my Grandmother was Esther Margaret Hearsey (born circa 1885).

My father was George Thomas Middleton from Stafford (born circa 1920). His mother was Esther May Till (I think).

If anyone has any information that would help me to build my tree and identify relatives/anscestors I would be grateful.

Regards

Heather Hinde

ARghhhhhhhhhhhhh :-|

Just say, dont belive everything you read in the newspapers (the artical about her working as a cook for Roosevelt)

In the artical it says she was just 11 when she left for the US, she was almost 16 according to the shipping record! And the artical appears to be written by a third party who had been chatting to someone....over the garden fence me thinks ;-)

Many thanks for responding to my queries. Apologies for it taking me so long to get into the swing of using the 'my threads' links. I'm still a bit of a Ludite with this I'm afraid. Best regards,
Heather
