	Is this your Samuel in 1841??? This one is an Engineer, like the Samuel on the 1851 Census, noted on there as born in Sedgely. Both married to Susan(n)a's 1841 Census Name: Samuel Constalle [Samuel Constable] Age: 55 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1786 Gender: Male Civil parish:Hales Owen Hundred: Brimstree (Hales Owen Division) County/Island: Shropshire Country: England Registration district: Stourbridge Sub-registration district: Halesowen Samuel Constalle 55 Sushannah Constalle 55 Charles Constalle 20 Joseph Constalle 15 Rebora Constalle 14 Simeon Constalle 25 Sarah Constalle 25 Only the youngest child (Rebora?) is noted as born in county (ie, born in Shropshire) sylvia

	Joy Weonly know that he was born in Sedgely because of that census ...... unless you have other information?? The problem with this is that the census information may not be accurate. He may have been born elsewhere, and raised in Sedgley from a young age, thus believing he was born there. He might have been born in a small village outside Sedgley, but the census enumerator did not recognise the name. Imagine the following conversation .............. "where were you born?" "Parkfield" "never heard of that! where is it it?" "Near Parkhill" "Not heard of that" "Near Sedgely" "Ah, I've heard of that!" or consider the problem of dialects ........... they often lead to confusion. I did note on looking for information on this Samuel that there are apparently TWO Samuel Constables born within a few years of each other, and that there seems to be confusion between them in various places. Your Samuel describes himself as an Engineer. The other says he is a Lock or Pad Lock Maker Some people with trees on ancestry seem to have combined records for the two ........ I do not believe that someone who is an Engineer would also describe himself as a Padlock Maker, or vice versa. sylvia
