Find Ancestors

Looking for Ernest Wilson, living at 13 Folkestone Road, Dover, Kent in 1929. His wife was Lily nee Armstrong. They are registered as parents on my mother's birth certificate, but that is all the information I have about them as my mother was brought up from an early age by a couple called Baxter in Rochester, Kent. My mother was told that she had a brother called Roy Wilson.

Not seeing a Wilson /Armstrong marriage either

Hi, I have checked on BDM and found a Roy Wilson b 1935 in Camberwell. His mother was Armstrong but there was no Christian name for her.

I saw that one too but didn't think it was the same family as presumed they stayed in Kent as mum was brought up in Rochester. Maybe though they moved to London and thats why your mum was with her foster parents in Rochester.

The only way to know if that is her brother is to buy the cert I,m afraid.

Have you found any family connection with her foster parents or how she came to be with them <

It does look though as if Ernest and Lily may not have been married

There's a Roy Wilson born 1935 London on a tree on here and it looks as though Roy himself is possibly the contact. Worth a try even if just for elimination?

I have no information regarding the connection between Dover and Rochester. I found Wilson's Fruit Stores in 1929 street directory at 13 Folkestone Road, Dover, but the following year they were were no longer there.

Unfortunately I have no dates of birth. I am just guessing but going by my mother's dob in 1929, I would guess between 1900 and 1910.

Thank you for all the information. Householder 2, Henry Wilson, was born in 1900 in Chatham, which is where my mother's 'adoptive' parents we're registered on their marriage cert. in 1924, before moving to Rochester.

might explain why he is not with keziah and children in 1911 if he was already married only a guess though im going by his occupation looks like he had fruit and greengrocer shop
