Hi

this request is for a friend of mine so apologies if i am unable to answer any other questions straight away as i would have to see my friend.

Im hoping that someone can help find Isabella Hogg on the 1901 and 1911 census, she was born 1874, husband Stephen Hogg. i believe her maiden name was Young and she married Stephen Hogg 1896 Gateshead. her first died 1911 and she remarried in 1915 to Thomas James.

george if your friend has the marriage cert to Thomas James, make sure that this is the same Isabella that married to Hogg ( ie that it states widow on the cert and that fathers match up) there are a couple of Stephen Hoggs born around the same time, so the death might be either one...there are also these Isabellas

Births Sep 1873 (>99%)

Couple of trees on Ancestry but none have the 1911 census,

Hi Jude, no but I wondered if the Isabella Young who married Stephen Hogg...might not be the same Isabella Hogg that married Thomas James though?

Unless George's friend has both certs and knows that it is the same person.

Aaahh see what you mean :-)

I love your sweet williams....my gran died in 1971 and is buried in a cemetery in Newport. As a child - as I was then - I used to go to Newport market on a Saturday morning and buy flowers to put on the grave...and I remember buying in particular dahlias and sweet williams. Stopped buying dahlias because they were full of earwigs :-(
