I understood that my Grandparents had 2 children Frank William and Betty Vera - however yesterday I was told that when my grandparents lived in America and had not long had my father someone had approached nan about adopting her son!
My nan said no because apparently she had "already lost one baby and did not intend to lose another for whatever reason"
Would someone be able to check for any details of this first baby, please? Apparently the baby was a girl and was either stillborn or died shortly after birth. Obviously I have no details about the baby other than this.
My Grandmothers name Vera Phyllis b 1901 (maiden name Baker)
Grandfathers name Frank Leonard Orme b 1902
I think they married in 1922 in UK
They left for United States of America 1924 (on the Franconia)
Frank W born in Buffalo 1926
Betty V born UK 1930
I think the baby was known as Clare or Clara
