Find Ancestors

Can anyone plz help ive come to a dead end,im looking for the birth record of my great great grandfather his name is henry wright he was born in 1856 in dublin,i cant seem to find any birth record and i dont know were to look,i can find him on the 1901 census as living in holyhead angelsey x i would be so greatful x

hi yes this is all right with what has been found,im trying to find henrys birth in dublin from what i can gather henrys father was samuel wright we think and they are from dublin but we have drawn a blank as to anything after that we have no date of birth for samuel and i have been looking for a very long time now :-( so any help would be fantastic xxx

Civil registration of births in Ireland didn't come into force until 1864..........

As Catherine is shown as unmarried, you have very little hope of getting further back on the father's side, as, with no marriage record to view, you can't find out when Samuel was born.....assuming that is the child's father's name.

The tree Quoy refers to has marriage and death certificates - Henry is a mariner on the MC and a fisherman on the DC. He certainly names Samuel, a painter, as his father.

I wonder whose child Mary Jane is?
