Thank you all

Beith is in Ayrshire, Scotland

John Muir's father from the wedding certificate is listed as: Father's name John Muir and he was a coal contractor.

I think the 1974 reference to Barbara is wrong. I think Barbara died as a baby but not sure when.

Fahse, don't worry about future info on Mary 1937 as this is actually me!!

1962 SAUNDERS JAMES MUIR TEENY AYR /AYR 578/00 0160 No Image - thisis definitely right as this is my sister.

I am really keen to find out place of birth for my father as nobody is left in the family who can help ie John Muir born 5 or 7 July 1987.Just tried to pay for credits and was kicked out :-(

Where is BEITH ?? if thats Scotland then you need Scotlands People for further research on his family.

Teeny's birth only shows on the records for England/Wales

Teeny appears to have been born in 1929 in Stourbridge, Worcestershire

Barbara seems to have been born in Birmingham in 1926 but I can't find a birth for the middle child (Teeny) so perhaps they went back to Scotland sometime after 1926.

I am trying to find out a bit more about John Muir who married Louisa Hislop on 21 February 1924 in Birmingham. I believe John Muir was born in Ayrshire possibly worked in the Birmingham area for a while then moved back to Ayrshire.

He had a daughter called Louisa Muir born 5 July 1923 and she was born in Birmingham. They then had four other children called Barbara, Teeny, John and Mary but I think John (dob 7 November 1932) and Mary (dob 11 August 1937) were born in Beith, 10 Mains Avenue.

Thank you

Mary
