Hi there,

Thank you VER Y MUCH for that third marriage!

We knew that she married a second time, but had no idea of a third time; however, her grandson, also Alfred, recalls his grandmother (Frances Emma) as having a husband to whom they referred to as Uncle Alf... so that has cleared that up! Thank you so so much! :)

Kindest Regards
Samantha

I'd never thought of the Boer War - he wasn't in the army, but he was in the Navy... my knowledge of wars/armies/Navy so I have no idea whether he would have gone there in the Navy!

Any chance he was in the army?
Men missing in 1901 always make me think of the Boer War!

What were his parents names, have you found them in 1881?

Hi, I'm trying to locate my great-great grandfather in the 1901 census, and 1881 census; I can find him in 1871, 1891, and 1911, but can't seem to find him in these ones - I'm not sure why?

He married Frances Emma Rymer, and had one surviving child, Elizabeth Rymer Laverack, if this helps?

Kindest regards
Samantha
