Just an initial thought - Andover and Newbury are only 20 miles or less apart, with the Hants/Berks border just South of Newbury. Either one/or both of them could have been working away from their normal home ground and perhaps returned to the bride's parish to marry?
Or could he have moved to be near married children?

Maddie Report 15 Nov 2012 13:40

my ggg grandfather Thomas Clarke tredgold was born 1771 Andover and died 1832.
He married Martha Gaiger b 1768 in 1793 Andover. She died 1816

Thomas had 6 children, the first 4 born between 1794 and 1805, baptisms show mother as Martha. ( I have all info on them )
Two further children - Martha b 1819 and Thomas Clarke b 1821, baptisms show mother as Mary.both born Andover
I had assumed Martha was Mary until I found Martha's death today. That is what was niggling me.

I then found this marraige

IF this is correct I have no idea what he was doing in Berkshire.

I would be grateful for any help in tracing Mary Wooldridge
Would the original parish record give any further info on her ?

I believe Mary died 1829 Enham aged 49 making her birth c 1780
thanks in advance
