I use the British Newspaper Archives. I have a sub but I think there's a way to access it through a library membership - might be worth a google?

That's an interesting approach, I've got a lot of ancestors in Witney, Oxon. Was there a particular website you used?

many thanks

Have had a look in the family notices in the newspaper archives on the off chance there may have been a mention of that death, sadly nothing.

Thanks MarieCeleste, it was a nice try to see if I could do it without ordering the death cert!
The 1911 transcription has a few typos as she was born in Garford, Berks.

Angela, that 1911 shows her as age 31, born c1880 Gordford, Berks.

With such a common name I think that death certificate is the way to go.

Hi, I'm trying to track down what happened to Elizabeth after the 1911 census which shows her living as a single girl in Witney, Oxon, with her widowed mum Jane Brown and brother John Brown.
Her father was also John Brown who died in 1886 and her other siblings
Ann, Jane, Fanny, Emily & Charles, all born between 1859 & 1874, Elizabeth was the youngest.
I can't find a wedding for her after then but have found, via bmd a death in 1916, registered in Witney, which I wonder is Elizabeth. I'd appreciate any help via lookups, but guess I might have to apply for the death cert to be certain it's her.

many thanks
