Although apparently 2 years older than a 1903 birth this does seem too much of a coincidence:

New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Name: Robert Rostron
Arrival Date: 15 Apr 1918
Birth Date: abt 1901
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: English
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Adriatic

He's a crew member, a steward.

There's an almost identical record for July 1918 when he's working on the Megantic.
