Thank you for you help here - this research has not been carried out by myself hence, why I am working through it slowly. The work I was sent has not been referenced also.

Ahhhhh.

Can we see James in the 1861?

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 3 Dec 2012 11:34

That 1871 one looks promising because of his occupation which ties with the 1881 info.

How is his wife's maiden name known as theres no marriage to a Margaret Cooper

It is good to see we are not the only ones to get confused with these complicated families - still, piece by piece. If it is ok, I'll look into this in a bit. Need to get some food etc.

Peter........

When you say..........The work i was sent.......and.......These complicated families......

Who's family is it??

Peter

Peter Report 3 Dec 2012 23:48

My own family - a cousin of my ancestor. And the info was sent from a cousin doing wider research. Why?

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 4 Dec 2012 00:01

Why do you think he married Margaret Cooper? Do you have a certificate to prove this?

Margaret

Peter

Peter Report 4 Dec 2012 01:28

As I say, it was sent from notes sent by another researcher. I don't know why. I assume they have made a mistake.

Peter

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 4 Dec 2012 02:22

So what we need now, Peter, is the birth certificate of the most relevant child of James and Margaret. I assume your relative has worked backwards from known information, so there should be a child who is know to be his grandparent or great granparent.

Do you have the name of that child? And an approximate (or exact) date of birth?

Margaret

I will get back to this but just manic busy with work at the minute.
