might be worth contacting the Westminster City Archive to see if they can help

I have been trying all sorts of combinations of surnames but not getting very far.
One I did find was that Alicia Caroline Sheffield was married to Chichester Fortecue in 1796, so was probably a friend of the family.

One question that has been nagging me though.
The original image of the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth should show whether the couple were single or widowed and it would also be useful to know whether by Banns or Licence.
The other chart on Ancestry I mentioned shows the name as Elizabeth Clark so was she widowed?
Apart from that, date and location match.

It is all too easy to make wrong assumptions when one does not have the full information.

I had a feeling that this one would tax the brilliance of the "team" but as always you have given me something that perhaps I can work with.

I am not sure how at this stage but will look for possible matches in surnames for a clue.

It is without doubt a step further forward.

The witness Thomas Vaughan feels like he could have been a brother to Elizabeth. It is not a name that I had noted as a possible father.

As to whether Thomas was married before, it is certainly possible though I doubt there was any issue. Thomas Augustus took over the Brewery from his father and later passed on to his son - also Thomas Augustus.

Thomas Mantell was a Brewer in Bloomsbury
I have his burial record as:
Thomas Mantell of Duke Street Bloomsbury Buried 21 Jan 1837 aged 80
His wife was Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Mantell of Duke Street Bloomsbury was Buried 1 June 1826 aged 62

Thomas Augustus, born 19 June 1798, Baptised 13 July 1798 (My Ancestor)
James, born 24 Feb 1800, Baptised 25 Mar 1800
Charlotte Austusta, born 2 Oct 1801, Baptised 22 Nov 1801
Ann Elizabeth, born 18 Apr 1804, Baptised 17 May 1804, Buried 16 Jan 1809
All Baptised St George, Bloomsbury.

There are several references to the Brewery:

I am searching for further information on Thomas and Elizabeth.
My best guess is that the Marriage occured in 1797 at Westminster St James between Thomas Mantell and Elizabeth Vaughan.
This is a marriage I picked up from Pallott's Index a year or so back but there is also a tree on Ancestry with a different name.
My gut feeling is that this marriage is the correct one as one of Thomas Augustus's grandchilden had Vaughan as a second name.

I have identified 3 possible Baptisms for Elizabeth, all with different parents, but no clues on who Thomas's parents may have been.

As a first step, I should be grateful if some kind person would do a lookup for me on FMP for that marriage in 1797.
I am hoping that it is a full transcription and includes Witness names which may give further clues to follow. Better still would be the image from the Register.

I should be grateful for any help resolving this mystery.
