Not that I know of Lynette - as I said, not many records survived (I've checked Ancestry and FindMyPast and nothing on there).

The medal cards say he was a private.

is there any other way off finding out what he did in the army :-)

he was from cambridge and his parents are charles dean c1867 and fanny phillips c1871 and he d 1984 in cambridge and i have the census throughout his child hood with parents and his army number is 4273 cambridgeshire reg 1914-1918.
