where can i find out if someone is buried

i.m trying to find out where i can find out details of if my ancestors are either buried or cremated? And where they were

You will need the death certificate to find out exactly where they died, that will give you a start as to where to look.

When they died is also a help. Cremation wasn't legal in Britain until 1885 - more info via google including -

If you buy the death certificate it usually tells you the person's last address. The first place to look for a burial is the cemetery nearest to the address.

A lot of cemetery offices or council offices have burials on computer now so if you have the exact date of death most can look for the burial quite quickly. Some places charge for this service and some don't.

yes some councils do charge, if its Nottingham they want £30-00 per cemetery to do checks.
