I cannot find my great great grandfather William Holmes who was born in "Hants, Eastney".

Born in approx 1873 according the 1901 cenus.

Can anyone help??

Reggie has found William in 1881 based on his father named in William's marriage. Eastney is part of Portmouth

How do I find out about John and Anne Holmes?
Where do I find Irish records? I'd like to know her maiden name so I really need the marriage or census in Ireland... Could someone point me in the right direction please?

Samantha - you really need to remove the answered tick, people will think you don't need any more help.

Go to your very first post and there should be a button that says something like "mark this as unanswered" - click on that.

The only Irish census available is the 1901 & 1911 and John & Anne were already in England by then.

You'd really need to order one of their children's birth certificates to get Anne's maiden name and we could then look at finding their marriage.
