Have looked at this and think I have Thomas in census back to 1871. Traced his parents in 1891 and no sign of Martin. The 1911 census is the only time Martin appears. No birth death of marriage.

Note the Ward surname, listed as 'brothers". brothers to Frances

The 1911 census that RR posted has Thomas born 1864.
The 1881 that Andrew has posted has Thomas born 1868.
Surely these are 2 different Thomas's, as they appear separately in 1911?
