Charles and Florence are on the 1949 voter's list in Norfolk, Ontario. Their address is 221 Maple St.

Thanks MarieCeleste for your info it will give me something to work on on this side of the water, because I was under the impression that he was born in Canada.
I would still like to find out what happened to them in Canada somehow.because the family lost touch with them soon after they emigrated.

Charles wasn't Canadian according to this, he was born in Horsham but he had been in Cowansville, Quebec 1913-1914. His next of kin was his father Mr J Bonner at 30 Victoria Road, Crawley, Sussex.

Charles intended to be a miner and their contact in Canada was a Mr W Kent, Can. Colon. Assoc. Rep., CPR Building, Young Street, Toronto.

Michael, it would be a good idea to edit your heading to include the word Canada - that way the researchers who have access to those records will spot it.

One of the problems with Canadian records is that they have much stricter privacy laws than us and there's not much available online for the past 100 years.

Marriages go up to about the mid 1920s and births about 1912.

Can anybody access Canadian records? I am looking for records of Florence Mary Richards born May 1899 in Glamorganshire South Wales and married a Canadian soldier Charles Bonner on Nov 26 1918 in Tonypandy, Glamorganshire they had two children James b 1920 and Alma b 1925, they emigrated to Canada May 22 1928 but I have not been able to find any record of them since then. Talking to members of the family they dont seem to know much about what happened to them either but all they could tell me was that they were very poor at the beginning and they thought that they may have settled in Ontario region.
