Hi,
I am trying to find the marriage of Albert b. 2nd Jan 1881, Accrington, Lancs. It appears he married Florence Heap bpt. 13th Aug 1890 at St Stephens, Burnley, Lancs. Her parents were Benjamin and Elizabeth Heap.
On the 1901 census Florence is with her widowed father at 32 Rawlinson Street, Burnley, Lancs.
The 1911 census has Albert and Florence (married 1 year) and their daughter Lilian (5months) living in Aylesbury, Bucks.
Lilian was bpt. 9th November 1910 at St Stephen's, Burnley, parents Albert and Florence of 32 Rawlinson Street, Burnley.
Help would be appreciated, thanks,
Ian

I agree K but the baptism record seems to confirm it was Heap as the Godparents listed were Albert Heap, Lilian Knowles and F Yates. Albert Yates had a sister called Florence.
I'll look and see if there was a Albert Heap in Florence Heap's family.

There is tree on Ancestry which gives Albert's death as Jan 25 1974 in Sanford York Maine There is also a photograph of a headstone with his wife Eva Robinson 1893-1984 There is ref to a 1940 US census and a WW1 1917/18 US Draft Registration Card, but my subscription does not cover access to them You should be able to view the tree on this free lInk

Perhaps Florence died and Eva is his second wife ??

Mary Re - death of Florence in 1975 As you know, divorce was rare in those days so perhaps Albert left Florence and set up home with Eva,which is why no marriage can be found for them and why unusually' Eva's birth surname is on the headstone Just a thought !

Hi everyone who has given me information re Albert and his family.
I apologise for not answering earlier but my 91 year old father-in-law was rushed into hospital yesterday morning so had to look after the living and abandon the dead for a while.
Thank you all very much for your information which is fantastic, I had a sneaking feeling he must have married in America as I couldn't find anything in the UK.
The additional information and the passenger records is also very much appreciated.
Looks like father-in-law is going to be OK once the hospital have got his Warfarin levels sorted out and he should be allowed home soon.
Thanks again everyone,
Ian
