There is also his medal card which can be purchased to download from the national archies site:

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/s/res?_q=thomas+spencer+19519&x=39&y=29

Cost to download is £3.36, I'll leave it up to you whether it is worth passing on this info.

Thanks Alviegal and Flip,

The gent had the war graves details.

He had visited the cemetery in Turkey, and noticed T. Spencer's grave.

Apart from the 1911 census details I don't think there is much I can help him with.

Thanks again I will pass this on to him,
Good Night,
Joseph.

P.S. I'm closing down now.

Have you checked out the commonwealth war graves site or his service record?

Joseph Report 5 Jan 2013 22:28

Thank you Flip.

He’s not in my tree, but a gent in the local paper is searching for relatives of a T. Spencer born 1880 in Preston.

T. later moved to Bolton but was killed at Gallipoli in 1915.

His Army No was 19519.

This MAY be him.

Regards,
Joseph
