my 8x great grandmother.

Leah Lacy (sometimes spelt Lacey)

born: 1763 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset
died : 1851 in Farrington Gurney, Somerset

married twice :
Joseph Norris on Oct 27 1783 in Farrington Gurney, Somerset.
William Collier on Jul 21 1817 in Farrington Gurney, Somerset

Leah had 10 children with Joseph Norris.

I'm trying hard to find her Parents. or any siblings she may of had.
but i'm struggling with the 1700's searching.

can anyone find any clues or direct me in the way i should seek out clues for her

parents?

Thank you everyone that reads my post

I can't find her father.. but i believe she may of had her mother's maiden name.

I found i think is her mother :
Leah Lacy born 2nd January 1742/3 Farrington Gurney Somerset.

-this Leah Lacy's parent's were John Lacy & Rachel ..

she had siblings,
Bety Lacy -baptism -30 mar 1740
William Lacy -DOB-8 feb 1744
John Lacy -Baptism-7 jun 1744
sarah lacy- baptism-20 aug 1749
john lacy- DOB-3 oct 1752
Thomas Lacy -baptism- 14 sep 1755

all farrington gurney.

i'm still searching for the Leah Lacy's daughter Leah Lacy who was born 1763 Midsomer Norton, Somerset and died farrington gurney 1851
.
i can't find them together. leah and leah. ? it's weird.

can anyone help any advice? would the father be traceable? as can't find a marriage she seems to just have same name as mother ?
could my findings be wrong, i just think not everyone married or did they :-S

Hi Natasha
What else do you want to find?
You have Leah b. 1763, apparently illegitimate, to Leah Lacy Sr., and you have her marriages and death.
You have Leah (mother)'s parents and siblings.
What more would you like to know?

Cross posted - you won't find a birth record for the 1760's.
You won't find her father either, if she was illegitimate.

you've marked this as answered - does that mean you have found what you are looking for?

Natasha

Natasha Report 13 Jan 2013 21:37

I thought as i was looking for her father . and one response was
"you won't find a birth record for the 1760's.
You won't find her father either, if she was illegitimate." put me off seeking him and her however.
i haven't given up on my leah lacy's and the help on here is brilliant. I'm just looking to see if Leah Lacy (1742) actually found a husband in the end. and whether she had other children for leah lacy (norris) to have half siblings possibly.

guess as it's 1700's it harder to find.

Thank you for your time :-)
