Hi All,

Can somebody help at all.

I have Cecil Edward William Yates b1986 Acton, Middlesex. Can find him in both the 1901 & 1911 census. 1901 census living at 361, Acton Lane, Acton, Middlesex. 1911 census living at 28, Regina Road, Southall, Middlesex. He was the first born child to my Grandmother Charlotte Amelia Yates (out of wedlock I'm afraid) when she was aged just 14.
Have managed to find his marriage and death in Essex. It appears when discharged from the Army in Colchester, Essex, he met and married his future wife and continued to live in Colchester and raise their family. I am aware that he used the name Ted.
My stumbling block is I cannot find any reference at all regarding the birth, so unable to locate the birth certeficate.

Anybody any suggestions at all to where I might find the birth or why I cannot find it at all!.

Who/when/where did he marry?

What year was he born please - not 1986, do you mean 1886 or 1896 maybe?

If so is this Charlotte senior in 1891? She is stated as single. Her relationship to the younger Charlotte and to Edward W are not given, but would this be the Edward W on the 1901 census described as Son

Just been googling 41,Myrtle Road Acton
There is info about a Francis Edwin Chawner born 1858 in Derbyshire moving to that address in 1897 and remained there a few years.

So maybe Charlotte didn't stay with Mr Harrington very long.

PM from David, still doesn't know birth reg details from answers above! Have suggested Mavis' answer is a good bet and/or possibly speak to GRO for their guidance.
Also suggested that he replies on thread, although I see it is now marked as answered.
