Looking at the ages, William James obviously married twice; Harriet could not be the mother of Annie.

Have you checked to see if Annie married?

i cant seem to find a birth for annie to find out her mothers name and as her father travelled alot certainly cant find a marriage for him until 1857 in bradford to harriett which i assume is his secord wife.

yes this is her family i have looked for a marriage but as she moved around alot its not easy or at least for me it isit!!!

You need to search for marriages and deaths from 1861 - 1871

he got married to harriet nicholls in bradford in 1857, they also had a son in born in nottingham in 1862 william h james, im wondering if this is indeed the same family? or am i getting them mixed up

big contradictions in the birth years and birth places! i am really not getting this! :-(
