Find Ancestors

Hi everyone,

I'm really keen to delve deeper into the Strutt line of my family tree, unfortunately I'm stuck at the first hurdle as the Scottish census aren't anywhere near his time. My great grandfather's name was Ernest Strutt and he was born 09/03/1919. From what the family have told me, he was born in Scotland and had a sister called Valorie and sister called Iris. He may have had a sister called Hester, but that also may have been his mother's maiden name, there's confusion in the family over which is true. We also believe his father's name was Harold, but we can't confirm this.

He married Lily Harrison in 1940 and had 4 children, Norma, David, Gail and Janice and settled in Chatham/Rochester, Kent area. I'm looking to find out about his parents and their siblings so I can trace it back to the Strutt's in the Scottish Census. There's aren't many at all in Scotland so even one or two names might help me. I know he was in the military and I believe he was on the Navy side.
