William Bennett was my nana's second marriage, the granddad who I thought was my blood granddad. It now appears the first marriage with William Eric Hagland born 1906 was in fact bigamous and he ended up in jail |

Hi we found that the V L in Maisie ie my nana's name was Veronica Landy. William Eric Hadland in Marriage certicate is actually William Eric Hagland born 1906. I found no death, no marriage for Frederica Haddon after his birth in Seacombe, Birkenhead, except she was a visitor in 1911Census with Bertha C Landy and her son, Harold, so I am now wondering, since I cannot trace my nana's birth, whether they adopted Frederica and changed her name-does anyone know whether there were unmarried mothers' homes in Seacombe in 1906 |
