Yes, that is Charles in 1911 census.

I have seen that entry from tree, and dismissed it, as under both childrens birth, mums maiden name Haggarty.
So if her surname was Haggarty in 1925, and Gray in 1928, then Pledger, i dont quite understand. Surely she would not have married someone else, between having children and 1928.
I think the entry taken from a tree, was from a book the pledger family archives, and not sure corrrect, as other facts in book not correct.

Sue, perhaps the children were born before the marriage?

As regards mmn on the births, if her maiden name was Haggarty then it would always be Haggarty, irrespective of when the child was born.

Due you know where and when she died? (It can be useful to work back from a death record)

The Charles born Saffron Walden is likely to be the one born in Littlebury as Littlebury is in that Registration District.

I would think that the Charles born in Edmonton is the one likely to have married Sarah A Gray in Edmonton

If Sarah/Sadie was born in Scotland perhaps that is where they married.

Thank you so much. It looks as though there were 2 Charles Pledgers then, the Saffron Walden one being mine. Hence others with wrong info. on ancestry trees. getting them muddled.
The marriage in Dunoon, 1920, tallies with first child born 1921. Also the family being in London 1925, also tallies .
I cant tell you how gratefull i am, have been along time looking for this, i thought the book had this wrong, and you have proved it. Thank you for using the credit.
