Thank you all you certainly have been searching. Yes Stephen Hudson married Hannah Hardcastle Parish Church, Knaresborough 25.12.1854. Born 1825 died 1900. Buried in churchyard. His Son James Henry was my grandfathers father.
Robert Hudson married Hannah Hardcastle of Kirk Hammerton at the Parish Church on 01.12.1836. She died in 1843. Robert married Ann Wing of Meldrith. Cambridge on 03.02.1845. they had several children, in the 1841 Census whilst still married to Hannah Robert was in Cambridge as Officer of Excise, but he still owned the Farm in Knaresborough. After re-marriage his older children are sometimes registered as Lodgers.Jane a mystery in the 1841 Census she is with Ann the twin that survived aged 9years. she is 49. Making her birth in 1792. Cannot find any more about her. As you say the record offic es might be the only place to find what relationship etc was retween these families, but can you tell me where the neared would be I live in Malton. N.Yorkshire.

We still can't find the connection between Robert and Stephen, obviously the connection must start in the generation before, most likely, but it would be very interesting to find where Robert comes in the Family Tree. Will have to take relevant information and go to some Archives and see if they can work it out.
Many thanks.

Gillian :-)

I know that Jane Hudson was not married. But, is there any way I can find out who the husband of Sarah Hudson, Haughs Farm, Plompton, Knaresborough was called.
As Sarah was born 1791 and Jane 1792 could there be a possibility that Jane could be related to Sarah's husband. Brother-Sister.

Not the answer to anything but worth making a note
Two baptisms at Kildwick
Robert Hudson baptised 12 Dec 1812 Kildwick son of Robert and Jane Hudson
John Hudson baptised 12 Dec 1812 Kildwick son of Robert and Jane Hudson.

The originals should be available to read at the Borthwick Centre in York.

There is no mention that these two are twins so they could be any age. -jl

Do you have the 1845 Meldreth Marriage Cert.?, gives his Father as William, occ. Farmer.
