I have found the following marriage on Findmypast but there is no image available:-

Parish Record Collection - Marriage Record

Month: Dec
Year: 1828
Groom forenames: Robert
Groom surname: Henderson
Grooms parish:
Groom other:
Bride forenames: Dorothy
Bride Surname: Copeland
Brides parish:
Bride other:
Place: Sunderland
Description: Sunderland, Holy Trinity
County: Durham

I just wondered if anyone with a subscription to Ancestry could check to see if the image is available on there and if it gave any more details - witnesses for example.

Thanks for looking GlitterBaby. I have just found this marriage today and if the Dorothy Copeland is the person I think she is then this might explain why a couple of extended family members have Henderson as a middle name.

Just thought the witnesses might confirm that it is the Dorothy I am hoping it is.

I will try the sites you mention. Haven't done any family research for myself for ages but a contact through Genes has started me off again with this branch of my husbands tree, so I'll see what I can find.
