my gt.grandfather john barlow was born 1840-1844 in staffordshire.
his father was a william barlow,i do not know who john`s mother was.
in 1874 john married a ann goodson in melton mowbrary leic.
his father was down as a gamekeeper.
can any one help.

EDIT - looks like this John Barlow was already married to Martha and had 4 children.

What was John's occupation on his marriage certificate? Does it say if he was a widower or a bachelor?

2nd EDIT - you can rule out this one as he is on the 1881 census still married to Martha.
