	Have you tried looking on censuses for a Samuel? What did Hugh say about his father's occupation? Who witnessed the marriage?

	Possibly.. ?? England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915 about Hugh Gregson Name: Hugh Gregson Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1884 Registration district: King's Norton Inferred County: Worcestershire Volume: 6c Page: 472 The problem is.......Samuel might have been a name he made up because he didn't actually know who his Father was.

On his marriage certificate his father is down as Samuel Houghton looks like I'll just have to send for certificates and see if a Samuel is the father of any can see this is my only option???? 	I can't seem to find Jane Sydengham born 1833 Hornsey Middlesex on the 1891 census. Was wondering if Hugh was with her in 1891.

	Ancestry wasnt picking him up on the 1911. so married 1 year 9 months according to FMP record

I have a hugh houghton b1883-6 marriage certifcate to Sarah jane Houghton and it states Hugh's father as a Samuel Houghton but cannot find any census's with him on or birth results marriage cerificate state that he was born in birmingham, no death certificate as he died at sea but 1917 records are lost can anyone point me in any direction, one that fits is a hugh Houghton in 1911 census but that says he's an adopted son where do i go from here :-S :-S :-S
