I am trying to trace the ancestors of my great great Grand Mother Mary Collinson 1822. She was married to my GG Grand Father John Benson and had 7 children, Henry, Mary, Suzanne, Jessie, Gertrude, George, and William. I believe they lived in East Butterwick but then possibly moved to Hull.

I have been given information of a Mary Collinson 1822 who was born in Kirstall and later married a Hull man named John Riley and had 5 children, Fredrick, Lebron, Emily and Thomas.

Is there a connection?

So 2 Mary Collinsons born abt. the same time and place and both with father named John, but one had mother elizabeth and the other one Mary.
Your Mary Collinson looks to be the daughter of John (occupation Carpenter) and Mary.

You really need the marriage certificate to confirm.
