Find Ancestors

Hi can anybody help find my cousins Mother. All he knows is she was born in Hereford, was married to Frederick Jones. They had 10 children. They were living in Brecon in Wales when Jim was born in 1928.Nobody seems able to find anything out. Any info will be gratefully received. Thank Gloria

What was her maiden name?

It will be on the birth registration.....look for it on freebmd

Alternatively, buy her marriage cert.

Her declared age will be recorded, along with her father's details, if she knew him

His birth cert will give her maiden name. He should then be able to find their marriage which will give their ages and fathers names.

When was the first of the 10 children born?

Charlottes name was Jones. Jim dosent know much at all but i have thier names no dates tho. William was 1st born.
Jim was 1928, John 1927, these are the only 2 i know.
the rest of the children were Shelagh,Joyce ,Joan, Betty,Mary,Robert and Thomas.

Charlotte or Charlottea you have spelt it both ways .

Charlottea is a genuine name too.

There is not a birth registered for a Jim Jones in 1928.

It would probably be 'James' - there are plenty of those !!!

There is only one birth registration in Hereford district for a Charlotte A Jones.

It's in 1873, so can't possibly be the mother of these offspring

'Jim' is registered as JAMES F.....assuming that info given about his birth is accurate

You say that JIM is your cousin........therefore,one of his parents MUST be the sibling of one of yours.

The 'a' on the end of Charlotte is almost certainly a slip of a finger

your right about the a on the end of Charlotte.
Jim is James F Jones, he as his birth certificate stating his mothers name was Jones.
Jim is my cousin inlaw thats why i dont know much, he is 85 this year so cant remember much. i will have to have words again with him.

Just had a word with Jim he was the youngest boy ,Shelagh or Sheila was the youngest of the children . Hope this helps

Please can you get Jim to tell you what the full details are for his father on the birth cert.............his occupation may help.

And what was Charlotte's second forename?

It says that Jims father was Fred Jones and he was a bus driver
