1901 Dorothy is neice to William Anderson and Caroline.

Caroline lee married William Anderson.
Caroline lee born @ 1873 had sister Alice M lee born @ 1869 in Surrey.

I suspect that Edward and Alice did not actually marry until later than they stated in the 1911 census. As you know divorce was not easily available for most due to cost. Perhaps one or the other of them was still married and therefore could not marry until their existing partner died.

I would take a look at this marriage in 1912 however as it looks a good possibility:

florence k holmes married john w ridge in 1910 in london however i can find a florence k holmes in london born 1886 but no ref on census prior to 1910 marriage. there may be a connection to norwich but still not found her. happy hunting as i am out of options on this one thank you community
