Identifying my gr gr grandfathers lapel badge

Hi Everyone
I am trying to identify a lapel badge worn in every photo I have of my Great great grandfather
He was born in woodchurch in kent in 1851
He appears in a wedding photo I have in about 1925 when he would have been in his 70s wearing it and also photos taken before so it must have been of great importance to him.His occupation was listed in the various census as ag labourer and in the 1911 census as a general dealer I cant seem to find anywhere on here where I can download the picture so if anyone can help I will have to let them see my tree to look at it I went to the who do you think you are exhibition and asked two different war medal stands who both insist it isnt a war medal and maybe a long service medal for something or an association he belonged to. I have trawled the internet and sent a drawing of it to one guy on there to see if he could help but alas he couldnt I would be so grateful if someone could throw some light on it Thanks :-)

He may have been a member of a society such as the Oddfellows?or a Union.

Have you tried asking at your nearest main library which has an archivist/genealogist? They are a weallth of info, and even if they can't help personally they might be able to advise you.

hi there I also found my gt grandfather with a badge,i believe it was a long service medal.
