I have been researching the Mcdonald family who lived at 34 hardwicke street in sunderland There were 11 children of a Michael Alexander Mcdonald and an Elizabeth Dudley Harvey.
I have managed to trace the descendents of nearly all of these 11 children
The females im interested in tracing are the following
Mary Ann Mcdonald born 12th November 1878 at brewery Bank Monkwearmouth i have managed to trace this lady in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census returns. However i cant find her on the 1911 census returns although on her mothers Mrs elizabeth dudley Mcdonald)1911 census schedule she is still living as one of 8 children who were still alive. I cant find any marriage for this lady in Sunderland I have looked at all the shipping registers and cant find her name So i dont think she emmigrated
Isabella Mcdonald born 9 sept 1880 at church street monkewearmouth. i have managed to trace this lady on the 1880 1891 and 1901 and then there is no trace of her.She is still alive in 1911 although i cant find any trace of her as she is one of 8 children still living according to her mothers 1911 census returns. I was told by my mother that this lady Bella went to london to form a brass band. I cant find any likely marriages for her in Sunderland or london. and ive looked at the emmigration shipping lists but her name or date of birth just doesnt turn up.
Alice Mcdonald born 24 january 1883 at 92 whitburn street Monkwearmouth ive trace this lady on the 1891 and 1901. She was a witness at her younger sisters marriage in 1904 and was still alive in 1911 according to her mothers 1911 census returns. Again i cant find any marrriage or death for this lady. Ive also researched all the shipping records for emmigration and her name with her brith just does not appear. I have purchased every likely marriage certifciate for all these ladies but they have been all the wrong ones.I have also looked at all the alternative spellings of the name
Has anyone got any ideas on how i can proceed?
